Who I Help

You may be moving through life with anxiety, stress, low mood, or a persistent sense that something needs to change. Perhaps you are facing a transition, feeling uncertain about who you are becoming, or noticing patterns in relationships, work, school, or self-esteem that no longer feel sustainable.

You may understand your concerns intellectually but still feel stuck in the same emotional or behavioural cycles. Neurodivergence, cultural identity, immigration, family expectations, body image, trauma, or experiences of difference may also shape how you see yourself and how safe it feels to be honest about what you need.

Nicky works with adolescents, young adults, and adults who want both practical strategies and space to explore the deeper reasons beneath what they are feeling. Therapy offers a place to slow down, make sense of your experience, and move toward change that feels realistic and personally meaningful.

How I Help

I approach therapy as a partnership built on trust and safety. You can expect a judgment-free space, practical tools you can begin using right away, and room to explore the deeper “why” behind what you are feeling at a pace that honours where you are.

My approach is humanistic, culturally responsive, and strengths-based. I draw from cognitive behavioural, acceptance and commitment, dialectical behavioural, narrative, Internal Family Systems-informed, solution-focused, motivational, and mindfulness-based approaches depending on your needs and goals.

I also have training in Emotional Freedom Technique tapping and experience as a psychometrist administering and scoring psychological measures. This background supports a careful, organized understanding of how symptoms, environments, identities, and strengths can interact, while therapy remains centred on you as a whole person.

More than anything, I want you to feel heard, respected, and a little less alone in whatever you are carrying. Together, we will work toward changes that are both manageable in daily life and connected to what matters most to you.

Therapies I use in my work:

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

  • Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)

  • Narrative & Internal Family Systems-Informed Therapy

  • Solution-Focused Therapy & Motivational Interviewing

  • Mindfulness, Strengths-Based & Trauma-Informed Practice

A Little About Me

Inspiration

I have supported clients in private practice and mental health settings and previously volunteered as a crisis responder with Kids Help Phone. My work as a psychometrist has also given me experience administering and scoring measures used in diagnostic and treatment-planning contexts.

Therapeutic Approach

My style is warm, collaborative, curious, and practical. I believe therapy works best when you feel safe enough to be honest with yourself and with me. We can make room for deeper exploration while also developing concrete strategies that support change between sessions.

Outside of Session

Outside of sessions, I enjoy connecting with the community and am currently learning Japanese.
