Neurodivergent Assessments

A Thoughtful, Non-Pathologizing Approach

Many people come to this page after years of wondering. You’re not alone in seeking clarity.

At Everwell Psychology, neurodivergent assessments are approached with care, curiosity, and respect for the whole person. We offer ADHD and Autism assessments that honour lived experience, cultural identity, and the broader contexts that shape how neurodivergence is understood and expressed.

Our work is grounded in a culturally sensitive, decolonial, and trauma-informed framework, recognizing the impacts of colonial histories, systemic inequities, and intergenerational experiences. Rather than focusing on deficits, we intentionally recognize strengths, meaning, and understanding.

Who These Assessments Are For

Neurodivergent assessments may be supportive if you are:

  • Seeking clarity around ADHD or Autism

  • Exploring long-standing patterns related to attention, regulation, communication, or sensory experience

  • Feeling misunderstood, overlooked, or mislabeled in past systems

  • Wanting language that supports self-understanding and self-advocacy

  • Looking for recommendations that are realistic, respectful, and context-aware

Assessments are offered for adolescents and adults, and are paced to allow for reflection, questions, and care throughout the process.

The Assessment Process

Initial Intake

1

We begin with a collaborative conversation to understand your history, concerns, and the contexts that shape your experience — including cultural, family, and community factors.

Assessment Sessions

2

We use a range of culturally responsive and evidence-informed tools, interpreted thoughtfully and without pathologizing. This includes functional assessments and behavioural measures that are understood within your lived context.

Gathering Additional Perspectives (With Consent)

3

When helpful and with your permission, we may invite input from trusted family members or support people to gain a fuller picture of your experience.

Interpretation & Written Report

4

Results are interpreted with care, avoiding biased or generalized conclusions. You’ll receive a comprehensive written report that focuses on your lived experiences and provides clear, respectful recommendations.

Feedback Session

5

We meet to review the findings together in an accessible, collaborative way. Your questions, reflections, and goals guide this conversation.
