What Everwell Means
In the North, being everwell is not about perfection. It’s about steadiness, connection, and care through the changing seasons.
Everwell reflects local Northern language and a way of being that honours cycles rather than quick fixes. It acknowledges the realities of Northern life, including the land, the climate, the histories we carry, and the strength required to live and care in this place. At Everwell Psychology, being everwell means tending to wellbeing over time, with gentleness, intention, and respect for where you come from and where you are now.
Our Founder’s Story
Everwell Psychology was founded by Dr. Danielle Sarah McPhail, PhD, R.Psych., a clinical psychologist whose work is shaped by years of practice in Northern communities, alongside a deep commitment to relational, decolonial, and inclusive care.
Danielle’s approach to psychology grew from witnessing how traditional mental health models often fail to account for place, culture, neurodivergence, and lived experience, particularly in the North. Through her work, she saw how healing is not linear, individualistic, or disconnected from history, land, or community. Instead, it is relational, contextual, and deeply human.
With training in evidence-based therapy, mindfulness, somatic approaches, and neurodivergent-affirming care, Danielle founded Everwell Psychology as a space that could hold complexity with care. Her work centres on women’s mental health, perinatal and life-transition support, trauma and intergenerational healing, and affirming care for neurodivergent individuals across the lifespan.
Everwell was created to be a practice where people are not asked to perform wellness, but are supported in cultivating it slowly, honestly, and in ways that honour their identities and experiences. Danielle’s vision is for Everwell to grow into a collaborative practice of psychologists and psychotherapists who share these values and offer thoughtful, grounded care to Northern communities and beyond.
A Space to Be Everwell
At Everwell Psychology, you are welcome to arrive just as you are. We offer an intentional and supportive space where you can explore what it means to feel more fully yourself.
Our Approach
Everwell Psychology is a relational mental health practice grounded in care, presence, and respect for the whole person. We believe that wellbeing is not something to be fixed or achieved, but something that is nurtured over time through safety, connection, and understanding.
“At Everwell, therapy is a collaborative process. We walk alongside you at your pace, creating space for reflection, growth, and meaningful change.”
Our Work
Our work is rooted in the understanding that people live within systems, histories, bodies, and relationships that shape their experiences of mental health. We approach care with curiosity, humility, and intention, offering support that honours your lived experience.
Our Values
Inclusion & Neurodivergent-Affirming Practice
We welcome diverse ways of thinking, feeling, sensing, and relating. Our approach is neurodivergent-affirming and responsive, recognizing that many individuals, particularly women and those from marginalized communities, have been misunderstood or overlooked within traditional systems of care.
Reconciliation as Ongoing Practice
Everwell Psychology understands reconciliation as a living, evolving practice. We acknowledge that we work on lands shaped by Indigenous histories and ongoing colonial impacts, and we take responsibility for how we show up in this work. As part of this commitment, we intentionally maintain a majority Indigenous client caseload through the IRS counselling program, supporting access to culturally responsive psychological care. Our approach is grounded in humility, accountability, and respect for Indigenous ways of knowing, healing, and relating. This commitment guides how we practice, learn, and do this work in a good way.
Care that Honours the Whole Self
We recognize that mental health is shaped by emotional, physical, relational, cultural, and environmental factors. Our work integrates mind, body, and context, honouring each person as a whole.
